How it works

Eight effects. All running quietly in the background.

FadeOut doesn't block content — it makes the experience progressively worse the longer you stay, so your brain naturally loses interest.

FAQ

Common questions

Does FadeOut block sites entirely?
No. FadeOut degrades the experience — it doesn't block access. You can always override it. The goal is to make lingering feel genuinely unrewarding, not to create a hard barrier you'll just resent.
What sites does it target?
You choose. Add any site you want to use less — social media, news, video platforms, anything. There are no hardcoded lists. Free users can add up to 2 sites; Pro users get unlimited.
Does it track my browsing?
No. FadeOut runs entirely in your browser. Your site list and settings are stored in Chrome's own sync storage — never sent to any external server. The only network calls are for Pro license verification.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, anytime. Cancel from your Stripe billing portal. You keep Pro access until the end of your billing period.
I reinstalled the extension and lost my Pro access. How do I restore it?
Open the extension settings panel, go to the Pro section, and enter the email you used when purchasing. Your access will be restored immediately.
